A scholar, bartender and now a transplanted Londoner, Patrick Mercer has worked in various positions in Vancouver’s hospitality industry for over two decades. After completing his securities course, Patrick chose to follow his passion and love for food and service by opening Brix Restaurant with David Hannay in 1999. With a dedication for generosity and warmth, Patrick has adopted the mantra, “Yes – What is the question?” and spreads this throughout his family at Brix. As a spirited entrepreneur Patrick has acted as a mentor and adviser to numerous Vancouver small businesses. Monday through Friday you may find him leaning up against the bar buying drinks and shots for his guests encouraging a home away from home amongst all within the boundaries of Brix. Married with two children Patrick now divides his time between Vancouver and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
