What You Will Need:
As compared to a regular tortilla wrap, this one may require more ingredients. Here they are:
- 100 g of almond flour
- 20 g of coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons of xanthan gum
- 1 piece of egg, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

The tools and equipment you will need include food processor, cling film, skillet, spatula or knife, and kitchen cloth. You may also need a tortilla press, but if you do not have one, a parchment paper and a rolling pin will do.
A Step-by-step Guide on How to Make Almond Flour Tortillas
I am sure you are already pretty excited about making your own tortilla so without further ado, here are the steps that you need to take:
Step 1. Mix the dry ingredients.
Place the almond and flour tortilla together with the salt, baking powder and xanthan gum to your food processor. Pulse until everything is already well combined.
Step 2. Add the wet ingredients.
Add the tablespoon of vinegar while the food processor is still running for even distribution. After that, add in the lightly beaten egg then the water. Once the dough has already taken the shape of a ball, turn off the food processor. The dough should be sticky to touch by then.
Step 3. Wrap the dough with cling film.
After mixing everything, wrap the resulting dough mixture with a cling film. Knead the dough while it is still wrapped in cling film (squeeze it like you would a stress ball) for about 2 minutes. Allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes.
Step 4. Shape the tortillas.
Divide your dough into 8 equal parts. Roll out each ball in two pieces of parchment paper with the use of a rolling pin. Continue rolling it out until the tortilla is already 5 inches in diameter.
Step 5. Cook the tortilla.
Place skillet over high heat. Once it is hot enough, place the tortilla and cook it for 3 to 6 seconds. Use a spatula to flip the tortilla and cook the other side for 30 – 40 seconds. Do the same on the other side.
